Marble and other natural stone floors can be a beautiful addition to any home. The beauty of natural stone can give a look to a room that simply cannot be duplicated by any other floor surface. Over time, however, your marble or stone will loose its luster and a simple clean will no longer bring back its original shine.
Tiny scratches, scuffs, dirt, and other buildup can make a floor look dingy and dull. You may notice that the light just doesn’t reflect well in areas of heavy foot traffic. We can restore its original appearance, as well as install a protecting sealant that will ensure its beauty for years to come.
To begin our polishing and diamond honing process, one of our trained technicians will first determine the scratch depth. Based on his assessment one of five levels of honing will be selected. For deep scratches, a more coarse grit will be used. As each level of honing is complete, the technician will steam clean the surface to prepare it for the next level of honing. Once the honing process is complete, our polishing pad is used to bring the floor to a shine and the surface is steam cleaned one final time.
After the honing and polishing process has been completed, we can apply a sealer. This sealer penetrates the natural pores of the stone to create a long lasting, durable layer of protection that prevents dirt and spills from being absorbed by the marble or stone, as well as the grout, while still allowing the stone to breath.
MARBLE COUNTER POLISHING
In addition to floor polishing, we can also hone and polish marble and other natural stone counters and table tops. The process is similar, but sometimes requires additional polishing steps to achieve the desired finish. Take a look at the slide show to see the results at each step of our honing and polishing process.
